Our story begins not with a formal trust, but with the spirit of pioneering entrepreneurship and community commitment embodied by Sri. Chintamani Rao. A visionary of his time, Sri. Chintamani Rao launched the first bus service in Sagara, Shivamogga District, Karnataka, known as SGMT (Sagara-Gajanur Motor Transport). His dedication to connecting communities earned him the revered title of "Sarige Pithamaha" (The Grandfather of Transport) in the region. He did more than just move people; he connected remote villages, fostered trade, and laid the groundwork for regional progress.
The Chintamani Trust was established in 2010 to formalize and continue this deep-rooted family tradition of service. Our mission, inspired by the legacy of Sri. Chintamani Rao, is captured in our guiding philosophy: "BRINGING DREAMS TO LIFE AND FOSTERING LIFE THROUGH SUPPORT.”, with tagline “We touch lives”.
